However, there isn't any research that supports many of the claims made. There was many research publications within the among barefoot running and running with running shoes and even between rearfoot strikers (usually shod runners) and forefoot strikers (often the barefoot runner), but tall they did was compare the differences and they also could not show which one was better nor which had less injuries. There isn't any doubt there are runners that will get injuries using running shoes while others get injuries running barefoot. The transition from shod running to barefoot running needs to be very slow and incredibly gradual and lots of do get injuries in that process. Some go to full barefoot running; others revert returning to running sneakers.
None on this shows that barefoot running does not have some benefits. It just suggests that the claimed science and research that is claimed to back up it doesnt. Numerous runners use barefoot drills within their balanced training routine and do distance themselves on the fanatical fringe claims with regards to the unsupported great things about barefoot running.
