All summer months long, inside of the corridors of power where we'd expect to see brogues or loafers on smartly suited men and tidy pumps worn with skirts, there was clearly a wierd phenomenon afoot - pardon the pun. I think of it as, Invasion of the Beachcombers.
Flip-flops took over as shoes preferred by a various gang of males and females. Field reports confirmed that unlike initially my assumption, these flip-floppers were not dealing with foot surgery, but exercising a misplaced style. Professional people attended conferences and boardroom meetings - even met clients - conspicuously under-dressed. At my books, the beachcombers came for work with "naked" feet. And let's face it, I got word of these offences; the flip-flop police kept me informed.
Cooler climate signifies flip-flops are tossed on the rear of your closet the good news is I'm on full footwear alert. Often known as trainers near your vicinity, running shoes in Canada and sneakers in the usa, sports footwear don't have any placed in the nation's boardrooms. Yes, the foot is fully clothed but Brian Atwood, Bally Shoes hip new creative director, says it furthermore: "Put on a number of bad shoes and no matter how nice your suit is."
Words your very own contemplation on office improper.
